The National Meteorological Service (SMN) has issued several alerts due to atmospheric phenomena that could impact the daily lives of citizens. The temperatures and conditions vary significantly from state to state, requiring attention.

It is crucial that the population stay informed and take the necessary precautions to face the estimated temperatures in the weather forecast. Below is a detailed analysis for each state, including recommendations to mitigate potential effects.

Cold front no. 13 extends over the western Caribbean Sea. The associated arctic air mass will maintain a cold to very cold environment in most of the Mexican Republic, as well as a “North” event with wind gusts of 90 to 110 km/h during the morning in the isthmus and gulf of Tehuantepec (Oaxaca and Chiapas) and from 50 to 70 km/h on the coasts of Veracruz (center and south), Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán and Quintana Roo, decreasing at the end of the day; in addition to high waves on the coasts of the mentioned states. Likewise, the probability of showers and heavy rains will continue in the southeast of the national territory and the Yucatan Peninsula, with very heavy occasional rains in Veracruz, Oaxaca and Chiapas. In the rest of the national territory, clear to partly cloudy skies will predominate with no chance of rain. The aforementioned weather systems will cause the following effects: Heavy rains with very strong spots (50 to 75 mm): Veracruz (Papaloapan, Los Tuxtlas and Olmeca regions), Oaxaca (north and east) and Chiapas (northwest). Showers with occasional heavy rains (25 to 50 mm): Veracruz (Las Montañas region) and Tabasco (west). Shower intervals (5 to 25 mm): Puebla (Tehuacán-Sierra Negra region), Veracruz (Capital region) and Campeche. Isolated rains (0.1 to 5 mm): Hidalgo (Sierra Alta, Huasteca and Sierra de Tenango regions), Puebla (Sierra Norte, Sierra Nororiental and Valle Serdán regions), Yucatán and Quintana Roo. “North” event at 60 to 70 km/h with gusts of 90 to 110 km/h, during the morning: Oaxaca and Chiapas (isthmus and gulf of Tehuantepec); from 30 to 40 km/h with gusts of 50 to 70 km/h: coasts of Veracruz (south), Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán and Quintana Roo, decreasing during the afternoon. Wind of 20 to 35 km/h with gusts of 50 to 60 km/h: Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas and Puebla. Wind of 10 to 20 km/h with gusts of 35 to 50 km/h: San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, Hidalgo and Tlaxcala. Waves of 3.5 to 4.5 meters high: Gulf of Tehuantepec and coast of Quintana Roo. Waves of 2.0 to 3.0 meters high: coasts of Veracruz (south), Tabasco, Campeche and Yucatán. Waves of 1.5 to 2.5 meters high: western coast of the Baja California peninsula. Maximum temperatures of 35 to 40 °C: Baja California Sur, Sonora, Chihuahua (southwest), Durango (west), Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco (west), Colima, Michoacán, Guerrero, Oaxaca (coast) and Chiapas (coast). Maximum temperatures of 30 to 35 °C: Baja California. Minimum temperatures of -10 to -5 °C with frost during the early hours of Wednesday: mountain areas of Chihuahua and Durango. Minimum temperatures of -5 to 0 °C with frost during the early hours of Wednesday: mountain areas of Baja California, Sonora, Coahuila (southeast), Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Michoacán, State of Mexico, Hidalgo, Tlaxcala, Puebla and Veracruz. Minimum temperatures of 0 to 5 °C during the early hours of Wednesday: mountain areas of Tamaulipas, Jalisco, Querétaro, Mexico City, Morelos and Oaxaca. Note: Heavy and very heavy rains may be accompanied by electric shocks, in addition to causing an increase in the levels of rivers and streams, landslides, flooding and flooding in low areas. Strong wind gusts could topple trees and billboards.

Minimum temperatures of 0 to 5 °C during the early hours of Wednesday: mountain areas of Tamaulipas, Jalisco, Querétaro, Mexico City, Morelos and Oaxaca.

Because the climatic conditions may change, the authorities recommend that the population stay informed and aware of any situation that may occur during the day.

Civil defense local will be in charge of reporting in the event that an event that endangers citizens could be recorded.
