Moscow, June 8 (EFE).- The attack by a Ukrainian drone last night killed the assistant driver of the locomotive of a train traveling from Moscow to Simferopol, while the driver was injured, according to the transport company of the annexed Crimean peninsula.
“Tonight, as a result of a drone attack, the locomotive of the Moscow-Simferopol train was damaged. The passengers were not injured. The driver’s assistant died, the driver was injured,” the Grand Service Express company said in a statement.
The company added that the passengers of all trains that were in Crimean territory were evacuated.
Authorities have canceled at least 11 trips and are looking for transportation alternatives for travelers, the company said.
In the southern Krasnodar region, a fire broke out in a fuel tank field after an attack by a Ukrainian drone, according to local authorities.
“After the drone attack in Novoorossiysk, a fire broke out in a fuel tank field. There are no victims,” the Krasnodar administration said on the Russian messaging network MAX.
The authorities indicated that 130 firefighters and 39 fire engines from the local Ministry of Emergencies are working to extinguish the flames.
The Russian military command reported that, last night, anti-aircraft defenses “intercepted and annihilated 310 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones” over 13 Russian regions, Crimea and the Black and Azov seas. EFE
