Trump’s popularity drops to a minimum, Latinos are dissatisfied with Republicans

The approval rating of donald trump remained in minima historic, since many Latino voters have harshly criticized his management and plan to turn their backs on the Republican Party in next month’s legislative elections, according to a survey by Reuters/Ipsos finished on Monday.

The six-day survey revealed that 32% of Americans valued Trump’s presidency positively, a figure that has not changed compared to a survey by Reuters/Ipsos September, in which the leader’s rating was at the lowest level of his political career.

Latino voters helped propel trump towards victory in the 2024 election, when he won almost half of his vote, compared to about a third in 2020. However, support for the president has fallen in recent months, as Americans face high inflation due to the decision to go to war with Iran.

Only 24% of Latinos approve of the actions of trump in the White House, the lowest percentage in either of his two terms.

And, in a sign that the low popularity of trump is weighing heavily on his party, only 26% of Latino voters plan to vote Republican in the November 3 elections, which will determine control of both chambers of Congress during the last two years of the president’s current term.

About 52% of Hispanic voters plan to vote Democratic, roughly double the level of support for Republicans and the largest Democratic lead since trump took office.

The survey of Reuters/Ipsosconducted online and nationwide, was conducted among 4,506 American adults and had a margin of error of about two percentage points.
