Mediaset España, in collaboration with Fremantle España and Vodevil, is preparing an innovative current affairs and entertainment programme for Telecinco’s prime time: ‘Demos: The Big Survey’. This new space will be headed by Risto Mejide, who will take on a multifaceted role as moderator, agitator and interviewer, showing a previously unseen facet in front of the cameras.

The program is distinguished by its focus on first-person testimonies and the opinions of the audience present on the set. The audience will be organized into an active and passionate audience, segmented by age, which will provide a unique point of view on the topics discussed, offering a demographic and intergenerational reflection of the feelings of Spanish society.

Unlike other programmes, ‘Demos: The Big Poll’ will not feature expert panels or professional commentators. Two or three guests, anonymous or famous, will introduce the topics of the day with first-hand information. The real stars will be the 350 people in the audience, divided into groups of 70 by age group (20, 30, 40, 50 and over 60 years old), each led by a celebrity. These groups will act as a kind of ‘non-deputies’, exercising the ‘counter-power’ of the street and freely expressing their opinions.

Risto Mejide, as master of ceremonies, will constantly move around the set, interacting with the audience, giving way to live connections, conducting quick opinion polls and interviewing a current figure that the programme will invite to participate every week. This innovative format promises to revitalise television debate, eliminating the figure of the expert and putting the voices of the public and the protagonists of the stories in the foreground.
