enjoy (Barcelona) has been crowned as the better restaurant of the world during a gala held in Las Vegas attended by 1,200 people, the largest of its 22 editions. The restaurant succeeds Central (Lima), which was voted number one last year, on the throne. They complete the podium of the list of The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2024 another spanish restaurant, Etxebarri Grill (Axpe, Guipúzcoa), and Table by Bruno Verjus (Paris) was third and Diverxowho took bronze last year, finished fourth.
There was no unanimity in the pools because anyone could win, although there were many that pointed to a Spanish 'tri-star', who in the previous edition had placed second and third. One was Enjoy, which had won silver in 2023 and has finally achieved its third Michelin star; others assured that the 'number one' would be for another Spanish 'tri-starred', Diverxo, which took bronze and is led by a chef, David Muñoz, who has been awarded best chef in the world for the third consecutive time. In the end, the laurels have gone to the Catalan establishment.
The vote of 1,080 experts from around the world
To prepare the list, which this year has reached its 22nd edition, the organizers have taken into account the votes of 1,080 culinary experts from 27 regions of the worldamong whom are writers, critics and restaurateurs.
Before this Tuesday's gala, and to warm up the engines and raise expectations, the organizers announced the list of restaurants classified between 51st and 100th positions. Among them are the Spanish three spanish: Enigma (59th), Apponent (72nd) and Mugaritz (81st).
