I militate in the naivety of the non-smoker. I have never conceived that smoke inhalation could be pleasurable. Nor did I flag this rejection as a sign of maturity, while other classmates were puffing on puberty to mark his manhood. It was simply a matter of pragmatism: cigarettes were expensive and nicotine was harmful.
There is a lot of smoke in this rise of extremism. This pretentious smoke is what is taking over the European atmosphere. Populism sells smoke based on a fallacious historiography, as well as on the seduction that is achieved with good management of telematic media. Until now we associated the extreme right with the iconography of casposity; and because of this disdain he has snuck his message through a mendacious telegeny. In France, the chaos of the Le Pen clan is thrown into the sea, its leader is more moderate and, like a dolphin, a twenty-year-old who symbolizes the turnaround of a good part of the young voter.
Erik the Red and the entire leadership of the French May would be stunned to see this osmosis of radicalism, since a not inconsiderable percentage of the youth today would dress it in neo-fascist ideologies. Very sad that on the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings, more than 30% of French voters empathized with the Vichy Government.
Vox, National Regrouping, Brothers of Italy, Alliance for Germany… They all want to return to the old Europe, to the suicidal navel of the Nation State that exhibited its patriotism in painterly uniforms that would be torn apart in the trenches of Verdun.
Paradoxically, as a result of the last elections and despite this very rarefied climate, of the great countries Spain is the most pro-European country. More than 65% of voters have opted for one of the two parties with the aim of strengthening the European Union. Pacts in Brussels between socialists and conservatives, a trend that in light of the results will be maintained in the community institutions. And all-out mud fighting for domestic desperation.
Sanchismo has clung to a tightrope-walking maxim – from defeat to defeat until final victory – but this eroding game necessarily affects governability. This extreme-right categorization of Von der Leyen's subsidiary party should begin to be reversed and the coherence of pacts that, despite this trumpeting of demagoguery, have strengthened the construction of Europe, should be transferred to the national level. Two requirements to reverse this trend of a shrinking party: vocation for centrality and opening of bridges so that consensus is forged in the sense of State. Bad fumes must be avoided, which only serve to cloud the atmosphere.
