Airlines sign agreement for US$22 billion to buy SFR from Altice France

A consortium of French telephone operators signed an agreement to acquire its competitor SFR in an operation that values ​​the second largest mobile operator in the country at 20.4 billion euros, which is equivalent to US$23.5 billion.

Orange SAwhich is part of the consortium together with Bouygues Telecom and the Free-Iliad Groupannounced in a statement on Saturday the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Altice France for the transaction. The operation could be completed in the second half of 2027 once the necessary approvals are obtained, according to the company.

Orange indicated that its participation in the acquisition will be 5.6 billion euros, approximately 27% of the company’s value, subject to adjustments at closing. In dollars, this amount is equivalent to US$6.05 billion.
