A video showing local deputies of the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM), Harry Rodríguez Botello Fierrofrom Yucatán, and Andrés Fernández del Valle Laisequillafrom Campeche, apparently in a state of intoxication, went viral on social networks, generating criticism of both legislators and forcing the party to issue an official statement.
In the recording, shared from their personal profiles and an inactive account of the PVEM Yucatanlegislators appear saying incoherent phrases and high-sounding words.
“The only two who really love their teams: The Machine and the Love“, expresses Rodríguez Botello between laughter and high-sounding words while his partner responds, visibly out of control.
Given the controversy, the National Executive Committee (CEN) of the PVEM reported that Harry Rodríguez stopped being the state leader of the party in Yucatana position he held for 15 years.
Although the statement does not make direct reference to the video, the decision coincided with its dissemination.
The PVEM announced that in the first half of November 2025 the State Assembly to renew the leadership in Yucatán, which will be headed by a woman “who complies with the mission, vision and values of the party.”
In addition, the internal control body specified that Rodríguez had already concluded his term as leader, so the CEN will temporarily assume the functions of the state committee.
“The measure seeks to guarantee the institutionality, transparency and operational continuity of the party in the state, while the formal renewal of the State Committee is carried out,” the statement detailed.
After the video was published, Rodríguez Botello restricted his account. Facebookwhile various fragments of the video continued to circulate on local networks and media.
Originally from Yucatán, Harry Rodríguez Botello Fierro has been an active figure within the Green Party for more than two decades.
Graduate in Right for the Intercontinental Universitybegan his political career in the legal area of the executive committee of the then Federal District in 2002.
Later, he was an advisor to the Federal Electoral Institute and election coordinator in the country’s capital.
In 2006 he assumed the coordination of PVEM brigades in Coyoacan and a year later he was president of the Delegational Executive Committee in the same demarcation.
In 2009 he was a candidate for local deputy and was part of the Honor Commission and Justice of the State Executive Committee.
In Yucatán, he held representation positions before the local Electoral Institute and established himself as the state leader of the Verde for 15 years, until his recent departure.
For his part, Andrés Fernández del Valle Laisequilla is a local deputy for Campeche and PVEM activist.
Although his political profile has been more discreet than that of his partner, he has worked on issues related to the party’s environmental and educational agenda.
The legislator has not issued public comments after the video was released.
