Walmart eliminates around 1,500 jobs on your technology team

Walmart is cutting corporate staff at the company’s headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas, and other offices, people familiar with the matter said while the world’s largest retailer seeks to cut costs and faces economic volatility.
The company is eliminating some jobs on its global technology team, according to people with knowledge of the dismissals who were not authorized to speak publicly about the matter. Less than 1500 employees are affected, according to one of the people.

Walmart did not comment on the dismissals.

The reduction follows a reorganization in February, when Walmart eliminated some jobs and asked employees to move to central offices in Arkansas and California.

The company has had a better performance than its competitors in the last quarters, but warned that prices could rise due to tariffs. These statements caused the anger of President Donald Trump during the weekend.
