Vivian Olivos He gave details of his resignation from Fuerza Popular after 15 years of militancy. He revealed that his departure responds to the rejection by the recent inclusion of questioned candidates, decision that attributes directly to the leadership of Keiko Fujimori. In dialogue with Willax TV, The legislator regretted the lack of loyalty of the leadership and the absence of responses to the appointments.

“I believe that loyalty comes from the bottom up and from the top down. I cannot tolerate the fact that there are Fuerza Popular candidates with family members active in other political groups, how can I tell people: ‘Vote for Keiko, let’s support it, identify with Keiko’?”, he stated.

“We have a worn-out congress, with a bad image. Do you think it is good to put people with complaints, questioned or people who are not directly Fujimori or are not from your bases? What’s more, I believe, and I am aware, that doors open to invited people must exist, but to correct people. (Do you believe that Keiko Fujimori is leading people who do not belong in this new election?) I’m not saying it, the bases are saying it, the candidates are saying it,” he added.

He reported that he warned the leadership of Fuerza Popular about situations of political incompatibility. He cited the case of a congressional candidate whose partner is active in Free Peruwhich for the former congresswoman calls into question party loyalty and opens the door to conflicts of interest. The legislator emphasized that on more than one occasion she requested explanations about the choice of applicants, but her messages to members of the close circle of Keiko Fujimori —including Micky TorresCarmela, the press area and other leaders—without having a response.

The former parliamentarian pointed out that this lack of communication and transparency was decisive. “I hate that people don’t show their face to me,” he declared. She added that the party leadership not only ignored her warnings, but also did not offer justification to those like her who built, from the grassroots, Fujimorism in regions such as Lima Provinces. Olivos denied that his departure was related to personal interests and stressed that, if he had applied again, he could have won regardless of the number assigned on the list.

In her testimony, the parliamentarian recalled that For months he had observed symptoms of deterioration in the selection mechanisms within the party, which increased discontent among militants, regional coordinators and applicants. He explained that many have decided to walk away and conveyed their complaints about the procedure to the leadership itself without receiving a response. Olivos maintained that the crisis in the leadership translates into the displacement of traditional cadres and a progressive distancing between the leadership and the territorial structure.

During the interview, Olivos He stressed that the “lack of respect towards militancy” ended up defining his departure. He maintained that there are no longer conditions to rebuild internal relations or to ask the bases to support lists made up of people without proven identification with the party. “There are many congressmen who continue only because they have no other option. I’m not going to bow my head”, he pointed out.

He assured that his departure caused an immediate effect in the Lima Provinces region: More than 150 activists and coordinators expressed their support or resigned in solidarity. The legislator warned that discontent spreads to other regions and that the party faces, in the face of the next elections, a scenario where distrust in the new integration of lists undermines internal cohesion.

Asked about her political future, Vivian Olivos He ruled out any possibility of running in the following congressional or municipal elections. “I am not going to run for Congress in 2026, nor seek positions in any party or municipality,” he confirmed. He assured that his decision to leave the party is not linked to personal interests or any negotiation with another political organization.
