Venezuela rejected the arrival of oil ship to maritime area for proximity to Guyana. The Venezuelan Foreign Ministry said that its country “does not recognize any granting granted in said space and warns the companies involved that they may be subject to legal actions.”
“This maneuver, promoted by the Government of Guyana in alliance with Exxonmobil, constitutes a violation of fundamental principles of international law, that force them to refrain from adopting unilateral measures in areas without agreed delimitation, ”said the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry in a statement published on Telegram.
He also said that by “persisting in this behavior,” Guyana demonstrates an “open contempt for international legality and for the commitments assumed in the Armyle agreement of 2023, Signed by Caracas and Georgetown in December 2023 in San Vicente and Las Grenadinas, with the aim of lowering tensions, putting regional peace and stability recklessly. ”
“Venezuela does not recognize any concession granted in said space and warns the companies involved that they may be subject to legal actionsand that they will not be recognized any right on the resources exploited illicitly, ”he added.
