USA and Chile agreed new conversations after cobre tariff ads

After a week marked by The announcement of President Donald Trump of Copper Tariffs, he Government announced on Saturday afternoon that a new round of face -to -face conversations between Chile and the United States was defined.

The agenda contemplates that between 28 and 31 of this month, technical teams of the Undersecretariat of International Relations will meet in Washington and of the Ministry of Finance with its counterparts of the Office of the United States Commercial Representative (USTR).

The purpose is to advance in the joint road map which seeks to strengthen the bilateral economic-commercial relationship for the benefit of both countries.

During the meeting – which joins the one held between June 17 and 20 – the subjects defined on April 16 will continue to be approached in detail, in detail: Tariff and non -tariff barriers, digital economy, economic security and commercial considerations.

The United States is Chile’s second commercial partner. At the end of 2024, the commercial exchange reached US $ 31,636 million, an average annual growth of 6.3% in the last six years.
