Trump and Bukele reject return from the migrant sent by mistake to El Salvador prison

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, and the Salvadoran president, Nayib Bukele, met Monday at the White House. During the meeting, they emphasized that they are not considering the return to the United States of the migrant that was accidentally sent to the Megacárcel in El Salvador.

This was the first meeting at the Oval Office with a Latin American president during Trump’s second termand focused on the recent agreement to transfer the terrorism confinement center, CECOT, to migrants expelled from the United States under suspicion of links with organized crime.

One of the outstanding points was the controversial case of Kilmar Abrego García, who was transferred to the CECOT Despite having a court order that protected its deportation, and whose return to the United States has been ordered by the Supreme Court.

“We had an administration that allowed people to enter our country freely … everywhere … They came from the bands of Venezuela … it is a sin what they did, and you are helping us, and we thank you,” said the White House in his X account.
