The episode had as an epicenter the coordinates -70.492 degrees in length and -23,053 degrees of latitude, that is, 7.0 kilometers northwest of said population, according to the National Seismological Center (CSN).

The information so far obtained from the CNS indicates that the earthquake began at 09:51 hours (local time) on Monday, June 23.

Remember that before any earthquake it follows information only of Official sourcesavoid falling into rumors or false news.

After a tremor, check your home in search of possible damage, use your cell phone only in case of emergency, do not saturate the telephone lines, do not garments or candles until you make sure that there is no gas leak. It is important to mention that after an important seismic activity, replicas can be presented, so it is important to be alert.

An earthquake can occur at any time, so it is important to be prepared with the following measures: it is a civil protection plan, organizes evacuation drills, finds the security areas at home, school or workplace and gets an emergency backpack.

During an earthquake, keep the calm and place yourself in a safe place, get away from objects that may fall, do not use the elevators, or stay in the stairs box, or within the framework of a door.

If you are in a car, station and get away from buildings, trees and posts; If you are on the coast, leave the beach and refuse in high areas, given the possibility of a tsunami; And if you are in a wheelchair and you cannot move to a safe place, slow down your wheels and protect your head and neck with your arms.

Chile is one of the countries with the most seismic activity in the worldthis is due to its geographical and geotectonic location, since it is within one of the areas with the greatest release of energy, in the permanent convergence of the “Nazca plate” and the “South American plaque”, in the so -called subdiction zone.

In addition, the country is located in a region known as the Ring or Belt of Fire of the Pacific, considered the region with the largest amount of volcanoes and tremors on the planet.

This area gathers 75% of the volcanoes that exist in the world and includes more than 450 volcanic structures, in addition, it is where 90% of the seismic activity worldwide and 81% of the strongest telluric movements on the planet occur.

Only in Chile 50% of the tsunamis of which there are records in the world have occurred, according to the Department of Emergency and Disadvantaged Risk Management.

Pacific Fire belt reaches the entire Pacific coast, starting in Chile, passed through Central America, Mexico, United States, touring the Aleutian islands, subsequently low down the coasts of Russia, Japan, Taiwan and the Philippines, until you reach New Zealand.

Some volcanoes found in the Pacific Fire Ring and that have generated important eruptions with large global scale damage, are: the Krakatoa In Indonesia, Mount Fuji In Japan, Monte Santa Elena In the United States, the Bump In Mexico and Nevado del Ruiz In Colombia, among others.

Every time an important earthquake or eruption happens in this region, the fear that The Pacific Fire Belt is “Active” Leaving more natural disasters, however, this is not possible, since each earthquake or volcanic activity are mostly independent from each other, that is, they have no direct relationship.
