The last quarter of each year always has high demand in most sectors.This is due to the different festivities that are celebrated, in addition to having a high demand for goods and services.
ManpowerGroup Panama decided to survey 200 employers to find out about the employment expectations in the Central American country. This resulted in a net employment trend of 20%. It was also detailed that 35% of companies expect to hire more employees for the remainder of the year.But this survey not only revealed the number of people who plan to receive, it also showed that 15% admit that they will reduce the number of workers, 37% will maintain staff and the remaining 13% still have no plans.
The sectors to consider are communication, commerce and technology.These are the fields in which companies that plan to hire more employees stand out.
The communications department is the one in which Panamanians can place the most hope because they have a hiring perspective of 50%, this being the highest.. This is followed by the public sector, with government institutions and non-governmental organizations. The percentage there is 34%. Finally, among the highest are consumer services. The hiring expectation is at 31%.
The information technology sector, although currently one of the most important in the market, has a lower percentage than those mentioned above. It is ranked fourth with 22%.
The survey also revealed the percentage of regions where the largest number of companies planning to recruit workers are concentrated. 24% covers Panama City and West PanamaIn the west of the country, Chiriquí and Bocas del Toro have 20%. Metro Norte (Colón) has 4%, and the central provinces have less than this percentage.
