The power of a scholarship to transform lives

In a country where the access to quality higher education It is still a privilege, to receive a scholarship It can transform not only a life, but also the direction of a community. According to data from Ministry of Educationonly 3 out of every 10 young Peruvians access university studies, and in rural areas the figure is even lower. In this context, a scholarship represents a invaluable opportunity to break barriers and build a different future.

In my case, it was the opportunity that allowed me to dream big, study what I am passionate about and commit to the well-being of others. I was a scholarship recipient thanks to the support of PRONABEC in the Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University. Thanks to that support, I completed my studies in Nutritiona career that today allows me to work with vulnerable communities, promoting healthy eating and combating malnutrition and anemia.

That experience reaffirmed my purpose and showed me that every effort was worth it. It was a decisive push in my professional path and in my commitment to others. Today I not only feel grateful, but also determined to give back: every talk I give, every public health intervention I carry out, implies that gratitude.

Support the higher education —from the public, private sector or from civil society— is a concrete form of transform lives. Since its creation, PRONABEC has granted more than 200 thousand scholarships to young people throughout the country; Therefore, each scholarship represents more than financial support: it is an opportunity to learn, grow and multiply that knowledge for the benefit of others. Whoever dares to apply not only invests in their future, but also sows possibilities for their family, their community and, eventually, for the entire country.

Boost the philanthropy in higher education It is betting on a fairer country and on professionals committed to its reality. Each scholarship is, in essence, an investment in talent, dreams and social transformation. I hope more people and institutions join this cause, so that more stories like mine can be written.
