Colombian coffee continues to consolidate its position as one of the country’s flagship products by reaching a new record in its international price. The pound of grain, quoted on the New York market, reached $2.95, marking a historical milestone. This increase was also reflected in the domestic market, where the load of 125 kilos reached a maximum of 2,595,000 Colombian pesos.
This increase in prices represents a significant relief for coffee growers, who in recent months faced multiple challenges, from adverse weather conditions to increased production costs. The revaluation of Colombian coffee responds, in part, to its reputation as one of the highest quality beans in the world market, as well as the decrease in global inventories and a growth in demand for premium products.

Analysts attribute this record to several factors. On the one hand, the frosts in Brazil, Colombia’s main competitor in the coffee market, reduced its supply. On the other hand, the increase in demand for differentiated and organic coffees benefited Colombian producers, who traditionally lead this segment thanks to the quality of their beans and their sustainable practices.
With this increase, the coffee sector, one of the country’s economic engines, is expected to experience a rebound. The economy of regions such as the Coffee Axis and Huila could benefit significantly, boosting investments in agricultural technology, sustainability and rural development.
