The new augmented reality glasses that are controlled with a ring and compete with Ray Ban Meta: this is its price

Smart glasses are once again capturing the attention of the technological world. Although they are not yet a common device, several companies are committed to their development, exploring new forms of interaction between the user and the digital environment. In this context, the company real estate presented his Air 3some glasses augmented reality (AR) that seek to solve one of the biggest challenges of this category: the way they are controlled.

The announcement was made during IFA 2025where the company also launched a financing campaign in Kickstarter to promote the project. The Air 3 stands out for its design, its technical specifications and an unusual control system that promises a more intuitive experience than its competitors.

With a price of $899the Air 3 are positioned as a direct alternative to the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses already at Xiaomi AI Glassestwo of the best-known proposals in the current smart glasses market.

The most distinctive feature of the Air 3 is its smart ringwhich works as a button, touchpad and virtual mouse. This accessory allows you to interact with the elements that appear on the screen, navigate through menus and manipulate digital objects, without having to touch the glasses.

The ring also contributes to track the movement of virtual objects in real time, something that other brands are trying to solve with larger or more complex solutions, such as the electromyographic bracelet that Meta is developing for its future devices. With this approach, Inmo seeks to offer a more precise and less intrusive experience for the user.

The Air 3 incorporate a screen micro OLED manufactured by Sonywhich offers resolution 1080pbrightness up 600 nits and coverage of 100% sRGB color space. Its field of vision reaches 36 degreessufficient to display high-definition content and realistic overlays, although more limited than larger mixed reality headsets.

The image quality represents a notable improvement compared to other models of AR glasses, such as the Rokid Glasseswhich only project monochrome images. Inmo seeks to offer a more immersive visual experience, with the possibility of watching movies, making video calls or running applications directly from the glasses.

Unlike many devices of its type, the Air 3 works with Android 14 and allow direct access to the Google Play Store. This means that users will be able to download and run common applicationssuch as social networks, browsers or messaging platforms, without depending on a phone.

The company claims that the glasses can project a virtual screen equivalent to 150 incheswhich makes them a portable alternative for consuming multimedia content or working in digital environments. Additionally, the system supports up to three independent virtual screensideal for multitasking.

Inside, the Air 3 are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR processoralong with 8GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. They also include a 16 megapixel ultra wide angle cameradesigned to capture images, analyze the environment and enable artificial vision functions.

The device includes microphones and directional speakers to voice commands and audio playbackas well as support for virtual assistants. Although Inmo has not revealed the exact weight of the device, it did confirm that it uses a battery of 660mAhwithout specifying how much time of continuous use it offers.

As with all augmented reality glasses, the main unknowns revolve around the autonomy and comfort. The company has not yet detailed how much the Air 3 weighs or how many hours it can operate on a single charge, two key factors in determining its viability in daily use.

Still, Inmo’s innovative approach—especially in the control interface and Android integration—places it as a direct competition from the Ray-Ban Meta and the Xiaomi AI Glassestwo devices that also explore how to make smart glasses more practical and attractive to the general consumer.

He Air 3 Kickstarter will be officially launched on September 15and if the project achieves the expected support, it could become one of the most striking proposals of the new cycle of augmented reality devices.
