The Kremlin declared an arrest alert and immediate search for Volodymyr Zelensky

Russia declared this Saturday a new urgent alert to search for and capture the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

The Ukrainian president was included in the Russian Interior Ministry's list of people wanted and captured, the official Russian agency TASS reported in the early morning.

Zelensky, the ministry said, is wanted in relation to a crime contemplated in the Russian Criminal Code, without offering further details.

As reported by El Mundo in Spain, “also this Saturday, Russia declared the search and capture of former Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko, who served as head of state between 2014 and 2019.” Authorities have previously issued arrest warrants for other senior Ukrainian officials.

The Spanish media recalled that in December of last year the Russian Ministry of the Interior searched for and captured the head of Military Intelligence (GUR) of Ukraine, Kirilo Budánov, after the Russian Investigative Committee initiated criminal proceedings against him and three other Ukrainian soldiers. Last April Budanov was arrested in absentia by the Russian Justice on charges of terrorism.

The order on Putin
