The Government of Ecuador suspends four concessions of the mining project in Napo

The Ministry of Energy and Mines reported the suspension of exploration and exploitation activities in four concessions that are part of the Mining Project Tenalocated in Napo, one of the Amazon provinces with the greatest extractive activity, both legal and illegal.

This measure was taken based on the reports issued by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Ecological Transition, which found that “The concessions breached the current environmental and sectoral regulations.”

The resolution of the suspension of activities for exploration and exploitation was notified to the Terraearth Resources companywhich is the mining holder of the concessions and which must comply with the corrective measures imposed by the ministries.

The company must apply measures of environmental reparation established in the Constitution of Ecuador and in the Regulation to the Organic Code of the Environment.
