The president of Paraguay, Santiago Peña, signed Decree No. 6034, that stipulates the regulation of the generation of electrical energy. Through non-conventional non-hydraulic renewable sources.
This regulation stipulates the technical and regulatory limits for the generation and distribution of energy, so that citizens, businesses and industries can produce their own energy and include the surpluses to the National Interconnected System, under security criteria.
The law aims to attract investors, based on the energy diversification of Paraguay, to boost the growth of the country’s electricity demand.
La Ande will have the role of integrating sources of the national electrical system, to guarantee the functioning of the energy infrastructure.
This law is key to the execution of the Ande Generation Master Plan, which has a projection until 2043. With the purpose of diversifying and modernizing the country’s energy matrix.
