Survivors 2026 lived one of his most emotional moments at the last gala with the long-awaited reunion between Jaime Astrain and his partner, Lidia Torrent. The contestant faced the traditional ‘Bridge of emotions’, one of the most intense dynamics of the format, in which he addressed personal aspects of his life without imagining the outcome that awaited him.
During the test, the former soccer player was especially sincere when reflecting on his romantic relationship and his personal evolution. Blindfolded and unaware of the presence of the television presenter, who was a few meters away after having traveled to Honduras to surprise him, the contestant publicly expressed his feelings. “I really want to apologize to Lidia, because I don’t know how to show you what I love him, what matters to me and how lucky I am to have him in my life. “He deserves the best,” he said, visibly moved.

Along the same lines, the participant stressed the importance that his time in the contest is having. “I had to come here to Survivors to realize many more things. How little detail-oriented I am. Of the woman I have. Of what I love him. And He is the love of my life…“, he added during his speech on the bridge of emotions.
From romantic reunion to request
The climactic moment came when Astrain removed the blindfold and discovered his partner in front of him. Both They melted into a hug which was accompanied by the applause of the audience present and the excitement on the set, where Elsa Anka, Torrent’s mother, closely followed the scene.
For her part, Lidia Torrent took advantage of the reunion to convey a message of support and affection. “I miss you so muchyou don’t know how hard it has been to be separated from you all this time, but we are so proud of you, so proud. You’re doing so well. Your whole family, your friends… You are being you in essence, we love seeing you, enjoying you… Your friend Dani says that you should smile a little more, but only that. I love you, we love you and we follow you. We both go to sleep every day, watching the videos… Everything,” she said.
During the conversation, the presenter also made reference to the physical change experienced by Astrain during her stay in the contest. When asked by the contestant if he still liked it, Torrent responded directly: “a lot.” Likewise, he conveyed information about their daughter together, one of the aspects that most worried the participant: “We see you every day. Elsa loves that you kiss her tattoo, that you make the L, she asks about you every day, she says she wants to play hide-and-seek with you… Everything.”
The figure of his daughter, Elsa, also had a prominent weight in Astrain’s previous speech. During the bridge of emotions, the contestant spoke openly about the importance it has in his life: “it is my life. It is what his mother and I fight for every day. For what I think 24-7. I dream of those hugs, those kisses. I hope I live up to it and be the father he deserves. And I can only give thanks for being Elsa’s father.” Furthermore, he added: “It is the most important title I have in my life and what I have achieved so far. My daughter changed my life, but for the better. And to give meaning to all of it. Because the love I feel for my daughter is indescribable.”
The reunion did not end with the initial hug. During the gala, presenter Jorge Javier Vázquez proposed to Lidia Torrent the possibility of stay for 24 hours together with his partner under the same conditions as the rest of the contestants. The proposal was accepted without hesitation: “Of course, I’ll stay, I’ll stay,” he responded. In this way, the couple was able to prolong their reunion in the surroundings of the realitysharing the experience with the rest of the participants and adding new hours together in one of the most demanding contexts on television.
