The factory Dilexis cookieslocated in the department of Albardón, San Juan, entered a new stage after the arrival of Juan Carlos CrovellaBuenos Aires businessman with a background in the food industry. The management change took place in a context of financial crisis which put at risk the continuity of production and the job stability of 296 employees.
During the second half of 2025, the plant went through delays in payment of salariesa situation that generated uncertainty and complaints among workers. The conflict added to a series of previous difficulties. In 2019, the company had already shown economic problems, resorting to staggered salary payments to be able to sustain activity. These situations impacted the confidence of the employees and the operational capacity of the entity, which was consolidated for years as one of the main cookie producers in the country.
The arrival of the investment group headed by Crovella represented an opportunity for Dilexis to reorganize. The businessman assumed control with the commitment to ensure continuity of jobs. The new administration promoted investments aimed at modernizing the plant, technological updating and recovering the production rate.
In January 2026, the company began the regularization of salary payments according to the Tiempo de San Juan slogan and the progressive reactivation of production lines. The process included the disbursement of capital and the implementation of improvements in infrastructure, with the objective of returning competitiveness to the brand and sustaining the source of employment for the inhabitants of Albardón and nearby areas.
The general economic context and the difficulties inherent to the food sector influenced the situation in Dilexis. The company had to face the drop in internal demand, the increase in operating costs and the need to adapt its structure to the new market challenges. In this framework, the intervention of an investment group was key to avoiding the closure of the plant and preserving the local employment fabric.
The Crovella-led administration also established new commitments with suppliers and customerswith the premise of regaining trust and positioning the products again on the shelves of supermarkets and businesses throughout the country. The strategy contemplated the diversification of the offer and the search for new markets, both nationally and internationally.
The provincial government accompanied the transition with efforts aimed at sustaining production and minimizing the social impact of the crisis. Local authorities prioritized dialogue between company representatives and workers, in a context where the Dilexis plant represents one of the main private employers in the region.
The company also proposed to reinforce staff training and incorporate new technologies to optimize internal processes and improve product quality. The investment plan included the acquisition of machinery, improvements in quality control systems and energy efficiency projects.
The resurgence of Dilexis, under the new management, is supported by the job preservationtechnological updating and a work scheme articulated with the provincial State. The company seeks to consolidate its presence in the market and guarantee the sustained production of Tía Maruca cookies, an emblematic product of the national sector.
