The Colombian Football Federation warned on March 2 about new measures to stop the improper use of distinctive signs of the Colombian National Team in business and political campaigns, anticipating an increase in these practices ahead of the 2026 World Cup in Mexico, the United States and Canada.

The initiative reinforces the protection of the 12 official sponsors, given the rise of the call ambush marketing and the unauthorized use of the collective image, a trend that can affect both the commercial integrity and the image of Colombian soccer, reported the Colombian Soccer Federation.

The statement issued by the Colombian Football Federation prioritizes the identification and control of any form of parasitic marketing (ambush marketing), a concept that groups practices in which companies or individuals use insignia, logos, colors and symbols related to the Colombian National Team without legal authorization.

One of the emphases of the statement is to limit the use of these elements in political propaganda and campaigns to attract consumers or voters.. According to the FCF, the call covers both the visual use in campaigns and the offer of prizes and promotions associated with the identity of the National Team by companies or individuals outside the institution.

The Colombian Football Federation extended an invitation to citizens to report activities that damage the institutional image or involve illegal marketing of products associated with the National Team.

The agency indicated that these actions must be reported to the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) or to the Tax and Customs Police, through the authorized channels. The objective is to involve society in the active monitoring and protection of the reputation and commercial rights of Colombian football.

The Colombian Football Federation inaugurated the new High Performance Accommodation Center in Barranquilla, an infrastructure designed to consolidate the concentration process of the national teams and position Colombia as a reference in international sports preparation, as reported by the federation itself in a statement reproduced by the official FCF website.

The complex, located in the Alameda del Río sector, represents a strategic commitment for the future of Colombian football and reinforces the commitment to excellence in all categories.

The new Accommodation Center has an area of ​​3,857 square meters, developed on two levels. The work required a total investment of $35,605 million, with a complementary contribution from Conmebol for USD 5 million.. The construction, carried out in 14 months, was designed by the construction company Metropoli SA and meets international standards in architecture and functionality, according to the Colombian Football Federation.

The total capacity can accommodate 69 guests, which ensures the joint concentration of the eleven national teams and nearly 250 members, including players and coaching staff.

The design of the new center integrates technology and specialized spaces to optimize sports performance. Each room has an individual air conditioning system and total acoustic insulation. The complex has robust technological infrastructure for performance analysis, a photovoltaic system with solar panels and backup electrical substations.

Regarding distribution, the center offers 22 double queen-type rooms (youth), 24 single king-type rooms (senior category)an exclusive room and a private room for the technical director.

Among the spaces dedicated to the comprehensive well-being of footballers, there are five massage cabins, a recovery area with six electric chairs and specialized showers. The complex has a barber shop and a personal care area. For leisure and mental health, there is a games room equipped with table tennis, billiards, bolirana and video games, as well as social areas and an ergonomic rest room.
