The Beauty of Taking Care of Ourselves: 15 plastic artists pose before great photographers in a campaign against breast cancer

The twelfth edition of the campaign Woman’s Hands of the Rossi Foundation brought together prominent plastic artists and renowned photographers to make prevention and self-care visible as central axes in the fight against breast cancer.

The initiative, under the motto “The Beauty of Taking Care of Ourselves”is presented within the framework of the World Breast Cancer Prevention and Awareness Daywhich is commemorated tomorrow, October 19.

Since its beginning, Woman’s Hands It is presented as a space where solidarity and creativity promote collective consciousness. In this edition, the campaign brought together 15 Argentine plastic artists, portrayed by 14 experienced photographers, with the purpose of using photographic art as a vehicle for social reflection and an incentive for early diagnosis.

The participating artists lent their image and their gaze to be photographed by prominent photographers. The project is made up of portraits, in which photography constitutes an invitation to reflect, look inward and transform reality from the image.

In the spirit of the campaign, art appears as a language to generate preventive awareness and the objective is “inspire women to be proactive with their health and also to support those facing this disease,” promoting prevention “from a creative and collective approach” and “breaking stereotypes.” All the artists and photographers donated their work to collaborate for this purpose.

The current edition gives prominence to pink color as a symbol of the initiative. Pink paint becomes the element that unites all artists and photographers, becoming a shared language and a sign of identity that runs through the portraits. Each artist incorporates color from their own visual universe, redefining it as a symbol of life, energy and consciousness.

The photographers, from their lenses, accompanied this gesture with a sensitive and contemporary look, capturing the essence of each portrait and of those who participated in this proposal. The promoters of the campaign pointed out that the articulation between painting and the photographic gaze reinforces the idea that art can inspire care and early health actions.

María Claudia Pedrayes, producer of the campaign, expressed: “Every year we look for a new way to talk about care. In this edition, we choose art as a language, because there is no gesture more beautiful or more powerful than taking care of yourself. This campaign is an invitation to stop, look at ourselves and understand that taking care of yourself is also a way of loving”.
