‘El 47’

‘The 47’

Social cinema, not pamphletary. Rather directed at the heart, through emotions. The script tells us about the birth and growth of a neighborhood on the outskirts (Torre Baró) through a character who spent much of his life driving a bus on line 47 in Barcelona, who fought to survive in a place where he arrived after being expelled from his homeland in Extremadura, building each house with his own hands and those of his neighbours, who managed, thanks to his rebellion when the politicians ignored him, thanks to a critical decision, to become a local hero. A great guy who wonderfully embodies the great actor that is Eduard Fernández -who once again gives another master class in acting-, while laying bricks at night falls in love with a nun (wonderful performance by Clara Segura) with whom he will share his life, along with the daughter with the voice of an angel who comes with him. Together with them and their neighbors we will meet the story of a neighborhood where the bus did not arrive, nor the light, nor the water… nor the firemen, although the police did.

In addition to the actors mentioned above, the cast also includes: a cast of top-notch supporting actors and actresses: Zoe Bonafonte, Salva Reina, David Verdaguer, Vicente Romero, Carlos Cuevas, Óscar de la Fuente, Aimar Vega, Betsy Túrnez, Carme Sansa…

Marcel Barrena, whom we met through 100 meters and Mediterraneanhas managed to stage this story – based on real events and about a man (Manolo Vital) who appears at the end between the credits – playing with archive images and filming in the present with a texture and framing appearance vintageall of which is fused in line with what is being told. Therefore, Form and content find a constant balance In this production, thanks to the grainy photography direction of Isaac Vila and the musical composition of Arnau Bataller, although the song deserves special mention Red rooster, black rooster by Chicho Sánchez Ferlosio, which goes straight to the heart.
