The 2025 World Surf League Finals will be in Fiji

The World Surf League (WSL) has announced that the Championship Tour (CT) 2025 Finals to be held at Cloudbreak, one of the most iconic waves in the world, located in the Fiji Islands. The competition, which will decide the men's and women's world champions in a single day, will replace the Trestles Finals in California as the culminating event on the professional surfing calendar.

Cloudbreak, famous for its challenging left barrels, is a world-class wave that breaks over a coral reef and can reach impressive heights of between 2 and 20 feet (half a meter and 6 meters). The combination of its strength and consistency makes it an ideal venue for the WSL, providing a dynamic challenge for the top five men and five women who will compete for the 2025 world titles.

Cloudbreak's return to the CT is achieved thanks to a three-year partnership with the Fijian government that begins this year (although not with the finals) and ends in 2026. The decision to hold the 2025 Finals at this location was celebrated by both the athletes and the local surfing community.

Cloudbreak has a rich history in professional surfing. It first hosted a CT stage in 1999, and has since seen numerous champions emerge from its waters, including three-time world champion Gabriel Medina, who won the Fiji Pro in 2014 and 2016.

The Exact date for the 2025 Finals will be announced along with the full CT schedule later this year, after the Lexus WSL Finals in Trestles. However, the enthusiasm is already felt in Fiji, where the Corona Fiji Pro, scheduled between August 20 and 29, 2024, will serve as a prelude of what promises to be a spectacular final event.
