Inflation stopped occupying the extreme levels of concern that marked much of recent years, but that did not necessarily translate into a perceptible improvement for broad sectors of society.
Salary, the ability to make ends meet and expectations about the immediate future are once again among the main concerns of Argentines. At the same time, corruption regained space in the public conversation and became mixed with the discussion about government management.
This scenario is reflected in a national study by Equipo Mide, carried out between June 20 and 26, which detected a majority of respondents with negative expectations about the coming months and a decline in the president’s image and approval indicators. Javier Milei.
Salaries once again lead the concerns of Argentines
The first striking fact arises when consulting about the country’s main concern. 27% of those interviewed mentioned low salaries relative to inflation, far ahead of any other issue. Corruption appeared in second place, with 17%, followed by unemployment (10%) and insecurity (8%).
Even though inflation lost its centrality as a specific concern, the discussion about how much salary yields continues to occupy the center of social concerns.
The presence of corruption in second place also deserves attention. The issue was above poverty, retirement, education or health and coincides with weeks in which complaints linked to the now former presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni They dominated part of the political and media agenda.
