The Federation of Peñas Cordobesas celebrated this Wednesday its traditional draw to elect King Baltasar from among the associations of this type that exist in the city. The procedure is simple: first the winning team is chosen, and then it decides which of its members will play King Baltasar. It’s been like this since The City Council took charge of organizing the parade together with the Federation of Clubs back in the 60s. The club that is elected in one year will not be able to compete the next, in accordance with the rules of this traditional Christmas event.
Melchior and Gaspar
The identities of Melchor and Gaspar remain to be known.. To decide the first, there will also be a draw, which will take place this Thursday, at 9 p.m., at City Hall. The difference is that in this case any citizen who meets minimum requirements could present his candidacy until October 31. It is enough to be between 18 and 65 years old and having been born in Córdoba or residing in the city officially.
