A loud explosion was heard and flames were seen at the US embassy in Riyadh early on Tuesday, three people familiar with the matter said, and one source said the fire was minor.
The US embassy in Riyadh was attacked by two drones, causing a limited fire and some property damage, the Saudi Defense Ministry said in a post on X on Tuesday, citing an initial assessment.
The raid came amid continued Iranian missile and drone attacks against Gulf states hosting US bases, following the US and Israeli attacks on Iran on Saturday.
