Juan Lobato has reappeared after his abrupt departure from the general secretary of the PSOE in Madrid, as a result of information published by ABC, which revealed that he had gone to a notary to state that a document had been leaked from Ferraz to counter Ayuso , supposedly coming from the State General Prosecutor’s Office. “It was not convenient for me to continue with the leadership of the party,” said the politician.
The presenter put him on the ropes, and in his usual incisive and direct style, asked him what was really behind his departure: “Have you reached an agreement with the PSOE?”, he said. “I am a party person, I have been here for more than 20 years. But I have not agreed on anything, there is nothing to agree on. I have my job. It has been a circumstance resulting from a fact that has been derived and then decisions have been made naturally,” he responded.
“They set a trap for you, they gave you a document that you couldn’t use. And you went to the notary to save your ass,” the communicator snapped. “Mine and the party’s. I don’t think it was with that intention,” he replied. “Does this seem very casual to you?” he asked. “Well… but I don’t think it was done in a way to hurt me,” Lobato said. Risto insisted: “They wanted to get you into a big mess and you protected yourself. That’s why you are where you are.”
“Maybe someone else who wouldn’t have done the same thing as me wouldn’t have had anything happen to them.” On the other hand, Juan Lobato did not shy away from giving his opinion on Óscar López, Pedro Sánchez’s candidate to occupy his position in the general secretariat of the PSOE in Madrid: “He has very good ability and intelligence. For me he was a reference”
