That’s it for the live monitoring of the elections in Castilla y León. Thank you for joining us during this election day in which we have recounted the development of the voting and counting minute by minute. You can follow all the information, analysis and reactions to the results on Infobae.

The Popular Party has once again won the regional elections in Castilla y León held this Sunday with 33 attorneys, two more than in the 2022 elections. And, as then, needs Vox to govern. Santiago Abascal’s party has obtained 14 seats, one more than in the previous legislature, consolidating its role as an essential partner for the investiture of Alfonso Fernández Mañueco. In general terms, the results return the community to a political scenario very similar to that of the previous legislature, in which the PP remains the leading force but without a sufficient majority to govern alone.

After the victories of PP in Extremadura and Aragón, Alfonso Fernando Fernández Mañueco has achieved the triplet for the right with the 35.46% of the votes. Now he will have to see if he agrees with Vox (18.90%) to reach an absolute majority in the Cortes of Castilla y León, especially after the inconveniences of the last legislature. Let us remember that the breakup of the government coalition left the Popular Party with a parliamentary minority and, consequently, it was impossible to approve the 2025 and 2026 budgets.

The PSOE remains the second force in Castilla y León, which breaks the hopes of its new candidate, Carlos Martínez, of challenging the Autonomous Government against the Popular Party, who have been at the head of the Junta for 37 years. With scrutiny practically over, the socialists obtain more than 379,000 voteshe 31% of the total, which translates into 30 attorneys.

The president of the Board and candidate of the Popular Party, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, wins the regional elections in Castilla y León, although without the possibility of governing alone. With the scrutiny almost complete, the PP has obtained 435,000 voteshe 35.5% of the total, which translates into 33 attorneys in the regional courts. Despite being the most voted force, as the polls predicted, the Popular Party obtained a result that will force them to seek support to form a Government.

The left disappears of the entire Parliament of Castilla y León. Both Izquierda Unida and Sumar and Podemos lose the only seat they have held since 2022 and attribute the electoral result to “the grouping of the useful vote in the PSOE.” From Podemos they emphasize the “disastrous result”, while from IU-Sumar they choose to highlight that part of the “working class” of the autonomous community will not have representation in the Cortes.

Vox reached Castile and León surfing a wave of growth that had led him to a permanent state of euphoria. His electoral campaign, with massive events such as the closure of Valladolid, with voters/fans constantly cheering Santiago Abascal, had made the party believe that a new victory was coming. The desired figure: 20% of the votes and at least four or five more seats compared to the 13 it achieved in 2022. This has not been the case: Vox has achieved just one more seat, 14, and has remained at 18.9% of the votes on Sunday night (compared to 35.4% for the PP and 30.8% for the PSOE). However, once again, it will hold the key to the formation of an autonomous government, since the PP will need the far-right formation to reach the absolute majority and be able to invest Alfonso Fernández Mañueco.

After Extremadura and Aragón, the elections of Castile and León They have served to shield the Spanish right. With more than 100% of the vote counted, the PP leads the results with 33 attorneys, the PSOE resists with 30 – two more than in the previous elections – and Vox is left with 14, managing to add only 1 more deputy compared to 2022. However, the panorama that can be seen in Villan de Tordesillas It’s totally different. He 83.17% of its 122 inhabitants has placed Vox as the party with the most votes in the regional elections of Castilla y León 2026 with 52.8% of the votes, which represents 47 votes.
Rufián points out the absence of seats “to the left of the PSOE”: “Not doing something is pure negligence”
The ERC spokesperson in Congress, Gabriel Rufianpointed out this Sunday the lack of representation of parties “to the left of the PSOE” in the regional elections of Castilla y León, while pointing out that “not doing something” to avoid it is “pure negligence.”
“Zero seats to the left of the PSOE. Not doing something (or doing the usual thing) is pure negligence“, Rufián wrote in a message on X.
In recent months, the Republican deputy has opened the debate on the future of the left and has insisted on the need to explore alliances between the formations that are to the left of the PSOE, betting on a plurinational candidacy.
Rufián’s approach, however, has not enjoyed support from parties like Podemos, which believes that basing everything on mere “electoral calculations” can only lead to ending the space beyond the PSOE.
