Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolás Maduro, will meet in Kazan within the framework of the sixteenth edition of the summit of emerging economies of the BRICS bloc of countries.
Among the issues to be discussed is the search for new trade allies with the member countries of the bloc, as well as access economies free of economic sanctions.
“We are the four largest oil countries in the world and Venezuela modestly comes to offer its part from an economic project (…) that requires a high level of investment,” stated Ripe upon arrival at Kazan city airport.
Among the delegation that traveled to Russia are also the vice president Delcy Rodríguez, Foreign Minister Yván Gil and the deputy and first lady of Venezuela, Cilia Flores.
Since mid-year, The Venezuelan government has shown its interest in joining the bloc of countries founded by Brazil, Russia, China, India and South Africa in 2009.
