President Peña highlighted economic growth and increased employment in Paraguay

The president of Paraguay, Santiago Peña, led a new session of the Council of Ministers, in which he presented a balance of his management a few weeks after two years of government. Among the aforementioned advances, he highlighted economic growth greater than 4% and the incorporation of 65,000 new contributors to the Social Security Institute, IPS.

Peña said the meeting is part of the preparation of the report that must be delivered soon to the National Congress. As he explained, the first year of government was focused on “putting the house in order” and laying the bases of projects that today begin to show results.

During his speech, the president used the sowing metaphor to describe the advance of his administrationstating that the first fruits of the planned begin to be seen. He assured that the projects initiated are taking shape and makes their way to new goals in the future.

Finally, Peña asked her government team to continue intense work, emphasizing that the way to travel is “long and arduous”and requested a greater commitment to achieve the objectives set at the beginning of his mandate.
