President Joe Biden said Saturday that the United States had delivered a private message to Iran about the Houthis backed by Tehran and responsible for attacking commercial shipping in the Red Sea.

The latest attack, which the United States says hit a radar, followed a day of dozens of American and British attacks against Houthi facilities in Yemen.
White House spokesman John Kirby said Friday that the initial strikes had hit the Houthis’ capabilities to store, launch and direct missiles or drones, which the group has used to threaten shipping.
Kirby said that Washington had no interest in a war with Yemen.
