Pepe Rodríguez, one of the judges of the cooking talent show ‘MasterChef’has responded forcefully to the criticism the program has recently received on social media. In response to comments about the pressure contestants face and the controversies surrounding the mental health of some participants, Rodriguez settled the matter directly, writing on the social network X, formerly Twitter: “Shut up, fool.”
The comment was in response to a comment from a journalist who, sharing the video of the presentation of ‘MasterChef Celebrity’ in Vitoria, commented that “In any sane country, a television show that mistreats the mental health of its contestants and whose history includes the suicide of a participant, would have stopped airing. Here they dress it up with glamour.”
But this was not the only response that the chef from La Mancha gave to the criticism of the Shine Iberia format, but also to Esteban Navarro, writer and finalist for the Nadal award, who stated that “They called me to participate in ‘MasterChef’, but when I told them that I had no criminal record, they rejected me.”, to which the chef replied “that and brains.”
