The Minister of National Security, Patricia Bullrichled a meeting this Saturday in the city of July 9 with mayors and authorities of the most affected areas for the floods in the Province of Buenos Aireswhich is estimated to have covered millions of hectares with water. There, together with the injured, he promised to expand assistance to $1.9 billion, materials and equipment.
“The importance of prioritizing first the recovery and strengthening of roads, accesses, and entry to towns,” defined the national authorities, within the framework of the visit of the elected national senator.
Bullrich met with the mayors María José Gentile (July 9); Salvador Serenal (Lincoln); Franco Flexas (General Viamonte); Sergio Barenghi (Energetic); and Daniel Stadnik (Carlos Casares), accompanied by the head of the Federal Emergency Agency (AFE), Santiago Hardieand the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Sergio Iraeta. Provincial officials also participated, such as the Undersecretary of Water Affairs, and representatives of the Water Authority and the Buenos Aires Ministry of Agrarian Affairs.
The recent rains were reportedly “double what was expected for this time” and exceeded the 500 millimetersa situation considered historic, since the last time similar rainfall had been recorded was in 1970.

We hope to finish it in one year and in the next stage it will be up to the province of Buenos Aires,” he commented.

National resources will be used to purchase stones, fuel and other materials for road repair, through agreements that the Ministry of Agriculture will sign with the municipalities.
The emergency operation is currently focused on the town of Urdampilletadistrict of San Carlos de Bolívar, where the storm caused extensive damage and affected both urban and rural areas, complicating access and the supply of essential services, according to local sources.
