The National Tax Revenue Directorate of Paraguay recorded a collection of US$457.7 million in October, which represents a growth of 10% compared to the same month of the previous year. This increase is equivalent to approximately an additional US$41.5 million and reflects the good general performance of the Paraguayan economy during the period.
The positive result was explained by the favorable evolution of practically all economic sectors, including electricity and water, commerce, financial intermediation, construction, agriculture, government and business services, as well as food, restaurants, hotels, beverages, tobacco, chemicals, transportation and rentals, which together boosted tax revenues.
Within the collection bodies, the General Management of Internal Taxes reached a total of US$222 million in Octoberregistering a year-on-year increase of 16.3%.
For its part, the General Customs Management reported revenues of US$235 million, with a growth of 4.6% compared to the previous year.although the increase was less than expected due to the effect of the dollar exchange rate on commercial operations.
In the accumulated period between January and October, total collection increased 9.7% compared to the same period in 2024, which represents an additional income of more than US$437 millionconsolidating a trend of sustained growth in the country’s public finances.
