Paraguay will incorporate a system to improve the country’s air immigration control

Paraguay officially began the implementation of the API / PNR system (anticipated passenger information / registration of passenger names)used internationally to strengthen controls at air input points. This technology allows to collect and analyze traveler data before their arrival in the country.

With the commissioning of the system, the Paraguayan authorities will have anticipated access to key information of the passengers that enter by air. This measure seeks to facilitate the identification of possible risks in migratory flows and optimize border control processes.

The system is the result of an agreement between the National Directorate of Migration (DNM) and the National Directorate of Civil Aeronautics, Dinac. Its application will modify the management of immigration control in the country’s airports, through a data -based approach.

The authorities indicated that the implementation of the API/PNR marks a change in migratory procedures in Paraguay, by integrating technological tools in the supervision of international entries.
