Paraguay participated in a regional meeting to strengthen response to epidemics

Representatives from nine countries, including Paraguay, participated in a meeting in Guatemala with the aim of improving the preparation and response to dengue epidemics and other arbovirosis.

The meeting was accompanied by the Pan American Health Organization, PAHO, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, CDC, and the Executive Secretariat of the Council of Ministers of Health of Central America.

The Paraguayan delegation included representatives of the Ministry of Public Health and PAHO/Paraguay, who shared the national experience in the management of arboviral epidemics. During the meeting, joint actions and coordination mechanisms were discussed for the strengthening of health systems against epidemic outbreaks.
