The artificial intelligence startup XAI, of the billionaire Elon Musk, sued Apple on Monday and the Chatgpt manufacturer, OpenAI, before an American Federal Court in Texas. The Tesla CEO is accusing the other giants of illegally conspiring technology to frustrate competition in artificial intelligence.
Musk had threatened at the beginning of this month with demanding Apple, who is based in Cupertino, California, saying in an X post that “Apple is behaving in a way that makes any company apart from OpenAi reach number 1 in the App Store”. In response, Musk threatened to ban Apple devices in their companies, including X, Tesla and Spacex. It was not clear if he finally fulfilled his promise.
At the time of Musk’s statements, Grok, XAI’s artificial intelligence model, occupied the sixth place in the “Best Free Applications” section of the App Store For iPhone in the United States, while Chatgpt heads the list.
