Tuesday and Thirteenthe iconic comic duo that marked an era in Spanish humor, is back in the news after recent statements by Millan Salcedo. In an interview given to Vanity Fair to promote his new show, Salcedo has harshly criticized both his former teammate Josema Yuste like the comedian Florentino Fernández.

Salcedo has stated that the dissolution of Martes y Trece was not a joint decision, but that he took the initiative. “Josema wanted to continue squeezing the lemon,” commented the man from La Mancha, adding that, after his departure, Yuste “called another fat and ugly one” to form a duo, in reference to Florentino Fernández: “I may be the fat and ugly one, but I have talent, which Flo doesn’t.”

For his part, Josema Yuste responded to these words during a telephone interview on the program ‘And now, Sonsoles’, where he assured that “I don’t understand why he says these things, I don’t know what all this is about”. Yuste also denied having formed a comedy couple with Florentino Fernández and defended his career after the duo’s separation: “I have worked with many actors because I decided to focus on my career as an actor.” Furthermore, he was blunt in stating that “Above all, what I do is not lie.”

Despite the criticism, Yuste did not want to delve into the controversy and had words of respect towards his former teammate. “The person who has made me laugh the most has been Millán. We have been different, but we understood each other very well on a professional level“, concluded the comedian, closing his intervention with a conciliatory message in the midst of this new chapter of disagreements between the former members of Martes and Trece.
