There was once again a drop in the amount and number of M&A deals in Latin America. According to reports from TTR Data, In July, 176 transactions were recorded, both announced and closed, for an aggregate amount of US$2.806 billion.
But these figures imply a 24% annual drop in the number of businesses generated for the seventh month of the year, and an 18% contraction in the total amounts mobilized.
According to the consultancy, “The Latin American transactional market has registered a total of 1,497 mergers and acquisitions, between announced and closed, for an aggregate amount of USD 39,226m up to Julyaccording to the latest report from TTR Data (www.ttrdata.com) and Datasite (www. Datasite.com).
The report found that as of July, a total of 22 Private Equity transactions for US$220 million, representing a 19% decrease in the number of dealsas well as an 86% drop in capital mobilized compared to July of the previous year.
“On the other hand, a total of 61 Venture Capital deals worth US$510 million have been registered up to July, which implies a year-on-year decrease of 42% in the number of transactions and 73% in their value” says TTR Data.
In the Asset Acquisitions segment, 35 transactions have been recorded up to July, which represents an increase of 9% in the number of deals and 131% in their value, compared to July 2022.
