Through her X account, María Corina Machado, presidential candidate of Venezuela from the opposition party Vente Venezuela, assured that the Director of the Barinas State Campaign Command, Emill Brandt, was detained by “the regime of Nicolás Maduro.”
Faced with the fact, Machado added that more than 40 days ago state leaders of his campaign in Trujillo, Vargas and Yaracuy were “kidnapped” who, to this day, “They are imprisoned in El Helicoide, the largest torture center in Latin America,” said the leader.
In her message, the candidate requested help from international and national entities, “we demand a firm reaction from all national and international actors who support a true presidential election in Venezuela.”
WORLDWIDE ALERT!
I denounce to Venezuelans and the world that the Nicolás Maduro regime has kidnapped our Director of the Campaign Command of the state of Barinas, Emill Brandt, just a few hours after I toured this state.
47 days ago they kidnapped our Directors…

For its part, the party of which Brandt is a part, and which Machado leads, stated that “the regime of Nicolás Maduro continues to violate human rights and breach the Barbados Agreement to continue attacking the electoral process, which is the only one that we support from the Unitary Platform to achieve the change that all Venezuelans long for in 2024.”
