“We still don’t even understand where we are going with so much technological change”. With this phrase, Gustavo summarizes the magnitude of the transformation that the financial system is going through. From the emergence of artificial intelligence to the rise of fintech, reflect on how innovation redefines customer experience, leadership and the link between banking and foreign trade.
In the nineties change was slow, but it existed. However, what is happening in the last two years is tremendous. Artificial intelligence, new coding, the speed with which everything evolves… we don’t even understand where we are going. Fintech companies were pioneers in applying frictionless technology and with a great customer experience. That forced the banks to improve. Today competition drives us to innovate and to offer a better value proposition.
With a great team. That’s the key. Surround yourself with talented, passionate people who inspire and encourage you to push boundaries. Management involves trusting them. Then, of course, there are indicators and monitoring, but the team determines everything. People inspired to break the mold are the ones who manage technology in a different way.
Yes, but before talking about financial education we have to talk about stability. The culture of savings is born in predictable countries, with clear rules, a strong currency and an orderly macroeconomy. If the peso is not a savings currency, it is difficult to generate a financial culture.
When a country offers predictability, people start to think about the future, to plan, to save. That is the basis. That is why I believe that building a serious and stable Argentina will be what finally drives education and financial inclusion.
The relationship is natural and reciprocal. Banks accompany SMEs and large export companies. In our case we have a very active, close foreign trade area that guides companies on regulations and processes.
But, as I said before, for exports to grow, clear rules, predictability and consistent economic policies are needed. An Argentina that grows is an Argentina that exports: energy, countryside, industry, whatever. Foreign trade is vital for the country’s economic future.
That is the essence of today’s leadership. I consider myself a close and modern leader: I use technology, but without losing empathy. First you have to understand the client, then adapt the processes. If something doesn’t fit, a solution is sought, always within the rules. The starting point is the person, not the system.
Excellent. I learn a lot from them and I have fun challenging them. Today the bank’s artificial intelligence leader is under 30 years old, and we work side by side. I’m at a stage where I know what I want to achieve, but I don’t always know how to do it. And that is where the new generations they have a key role: they bring the how. You have to trust, listen and let yourself be carried away by his gaze.
One based on security and trust. I like to inspire and demand, because without demand there are no results. I always say: I like to make things happen. But I also incorporated another phrase that represents a lot to me: no one can compete with someone who has fun doing what they do. Fun is an essential part of work. If you are passionate, demand yourself and enjoy, everything flows.
Rugby taught me everything. To know my weaknesses and transform them into strengths, to work as a team, to trust the leader, to read the opponent’s movements and anticipate. Also commitment and discipline: never miss, always be present. That culture of effort, analysis and commitment It is what I take to the professional world.
Enormous. If we truly understand that potential and work seriously, the next decade can be extraordinary. we have everything: energy, countryside, industry, human resources. We just need clear rules and a long-term vision. Foreign trade is the key to Argentine development. And if we do things right, the next decade can be glorious.
