With the advance of the ONPE national count to 77.802%, Keiko Fujimori maintains leadership in eleven regions of the countryconsolidating a prominent presence in the north and east of the territory. The Fuerza Popular candidate occupies first place in La Libertad, Lambayeque, Loreto, Pasco, Piura, Tumbes, Ucayali, Callao, Ica, Junín and Áncashwith percentages that exceed their rivals in each of these jurisdictions. Its highest support is seen in Tumbeswhere it reaches 33,498% of the valid votes, followed by Ucayali and Loreto, with figures higher than 28%.
Fujimori’s performance shows a favorable trend in urban and coastal areas, where he manages to capitalize on a significant part of the electorate. On the other hand, in southern and mountain regions, the vote is dispersed among other candidates such as Roberto Sánchez and Jorge Nieto, who lead in departments such as Apurímac, Cusco, Puno and Arequipa. Fujimori’s progress in the national scrutiny reflects a solid foundation in specific areas, while he faces greater competition in other areas of the country, according to the partial results released by the ONPE.
