Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said on Monday that Long-term inflation expectations appear to remain stable despite the current energy crisis, and the central bank does not yet need to make a decision on how to react to the latest problems.
“Inflation expectations appear to be well anchored beyond the short term”said Powell at Harvard University.
Regarding the energy crisis due to the war in Iran, he said that “We don’t know what the economic effects will be, but we will certainly be attentive” How does that affect the pressures on prices after being above the 2% target for so long.
