Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, anticipates the future of work: “digital humans” will be your next coworkers

Jensen HuangCEO of Nvidiaaffirms that the future of work in companies will be defined by collaboration between people and “digital humans.” This term refers to artificial intelligence-based tools capable of performing specific tasks, such as accounting or software development.

During an event hosted by Citadel Securities, Huang explained that “digital humans” range from AI-powered software engineers who can code to AI-assisted nurses, accountants, lawyers and marketers.

Huang calls this set of technologies agentic AI, and notes that its development is advancing rapidly: “For the first time, technology is not just a tool for accountants or engineers, but now we can count on digital software engineers who can perform like any specialized professional.”

Huang highlighted that in the future, companies will combine human work with digital humans, some developed by OpenAI, Harvey, Open Evidence, Cursor, Replit, Lovable, other companies, or created internally to protect their own knowledge and data.

According to Huang, the integration of agentic AI in companies represents a market opportunity that could reach several billion dollars, as it will greatly expand the available workforce and make it possible to address increasingly complex and specialized tasks.

In addition to addressing the role of digital humans, Jensen Huang also spoke about the future of robots in the workplace.

According to Nvidia’s CEO, in the future people may have to pay an annual salary of $50,000 to robots to perform various tasks.

During the Nvidia GTC 2025 global conference, Huang warned of human labor shortageestimating that, by the end of this decade, the global deficit will be at least 50 million workers.

“We would be willing to pay them each $50,000 a year to work. We’ll probably end up spending that amount on robots,” he said.

These statements occurred during the presentation of Groot N1, an artificial intelligence model developed for robots and based on the human cognitive process.

The purpose of this project is to ensure that robots can process both the information with which they were trained and the information they receive in real time.allowing them to perform tasks such as moving around a factory or moving objects, among other activities.

Groot N1 relies on the combination of synthetic data generation, learning and simulation, allowing robots to train in virtual environments and improve their adaptive capacity without the need for real-world experimentation.

Huang emphasized the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence applied to robotics and noted that this sector could become the largest industry in the world in the near future.

Jensen Huang maintains that the demand for electricians, plumbers and carpenters will increase in the coming yearsas they will be essential for the construction and maintenance of data centers.

Speaking to Channel 4 News in the United Kingdom, the Nvidia CEO said: “We are going to need hundreds of thousands of electricians, plumbers and carpenters to build all these factories.”

Huang indicated that specialized trades in the global economy will experience a considerable boom, to the point that it will be necessary to double the number of professionals in these sectors each year.

The manager highlighted that many of these jobs do not require a university degree and pointed out that salaries can exceed USD 100,000.

Besides, explained that the construction of a 23,200 square meter data center requires up to 1,500 people working on the siteand after its inauguration, an approximate staff of 50 permanent employees is maintained for maintenance work.
