Honda announced it will gradually resume normal operations at its North American vehicle assembly plants starting Monday.a sign that production disruptions due to Nexperia chip shortages are easing.
Japan’s second-largest automaker stopped production at its Mexico plant on Oct. 28 and adjusted production at factories in the United States and Canada starting Oct. 27.due to the chip problem.
This Tuesday, a spokesperson said Honda had secured a certain level of chip supplyfor example by contracting alternative components.
Asked if Nexperia had resumed shipments to Honda, the spokesperson addressed Nexperia.
However, The spokesperson added that the return to normality planned for next week could changesince the situation remains unstable.
