He cheese will be the absolute protagonist this month in the province of Córdoba, where the Villa de Zuheros celebrates the 21st edition of the Cheese Festival from the Thursday 19th to Sunday 22nd September“which has become a benchmark when it comes to disseminating the qualities that cheeses have for both our nutrition and our enjoyment,” the organization says.
As is customary at this event, the event will feature the exhibition and tasting of a wide variety of national artisan cheeses, accompanied by a programme of activities for all audiences.
Organized by Balanchares Cheeseswith the support of the Provincial Institute of Economic Development (Iprodeco), the Zuheros Cheese Festival is One of the most anticipated gourmet events of the year and hopes to repeat the success of previous editions, with an average of 15,000 visitors and the sale of 12,000 kilos of artisanal cheese.
The culinary proposal combines the winning synergy of gastronomy and tourism, because in addition to enjoying the products selected by the participating cheese factories, with more than 40 varietiesThose who attend the event will also be able to enjoy the attraction of one of the most beautiful towns in Spain.
Zuheros Cheese Festival Schedule
The event will open on Thursday 19 September at 7:00 p.m. and close on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. In addition to the exhibitors and tastings, the event maintains its festive character with activities for all audiences, live music, dancing, face painting, children’s games, cheese tastings, workshops on the artisanal production of cheeses and dairy products, visits to a cheese factory or a dairy breakfast.
Cheese varieties for purchase and tasting
Among the products that visitors will be able to taste and purchase, there will be more than 40 varieties of cheese, who try to represent the whole world every year Spanish cheese heritage“innovating in each edition with new cheeses that are either new presentations, or have not yet been present at this event,” say the organizers.
Always placed in tasting order, the present varieties complete the wide range that goes from elaborate cheeses with milk of cow, goat, sheep, mixed, as well as fresh, semi-cured, cured, soft paste, dairy….
